McCollister’s Transportation acquires Custom Car Carriage Co.

BURLINGTON, N.J. — Burlington-based McCollister’s Transportation Group has recently acquired Custom Car Carriage Co. of Denver, which has been doing enclosed auto transport for the past 37 years.

The new fleet is now called McCollister’s Auto Transport.

“McCollister’s has built a reputation for providing quality transportation services for expensive, high-end products from sensitive electronic equipment to priceless art and antiques,” said Joseph Csik, head of driver support.

McCollister’s Auto Transport fleet provides service for car collectors, muscle cars, hot rods, vintage racecars, exotic cars, classic and antique autos as well as service to and from auto auctions and auto shows, Csik said.

The auto transport fleet is operated by experienced drivers and utilizes enclosed, custom-designed air ride trailers with special lift gates that keep the automobile level at all times. Drivers are responsible for loading and unloading of the trailers and almost all hauls are multi-stop. McCollister’s plans to grow the fleet, eventually offering enclosed auto transport and door-to-door service for family, military and corporate relocations. It is ideal for snowbirds that are tired of the long drive back and forth to Florida.

Csik said McCollister’s has driving opportunities available in the new enclosed auto transport fleet for experienced drivers.

The company is currently leasing owner-operator power units and has a limited number of company driving positions as well and McCollister’s also offers a lease-purchase program. McCollister’s is hiring/leasing drivers throughout the country for its new auto transport fleet.

“Moving these valuable automobiles demands higher rates and contractors are paid based on experience,” Csik said. “Settlements are weekly with direct deposit. Positions are available for both solos and teams.”

McCollister’s Transportation Group is part of UniGroup logistics (United Van Lines) with services well beyond household and corporate relocations.

The company also has dedicated fleets for special commodities/truckload, LTL electronics, is climate controlled for high-end electronics, artwork and museums, and also handles an aerospace and oversize fleet.
